Dickens Descendant to Sign Literary Works at Tempe Musical Performance May 23rd

Charlie Dickens, great-great grandson of the popular Victorian era novelist, Charlie Dickens, great-great grandson of the popular Victorian era novelist, Charles John Huffam Dickens; will perform locally in Tempe, Arizona. ; will perform locally in Tempe, Arizona.  Along with this musical performance- and for those who bring one of their favorites- younger Dickens will sign copies of his great-great grandfather’s works.

Known to many, (Charlie) Dickens grew up amid the Midwestern Blues and R&B scenes in Milwaukee and Chicago.  Throughout his thirty-year musical career, he has played numerous venues, opening for acts like Eric Clapton, Howlin’ Wolf, and Muddy Waters.  Now Charlie works with a group of professional musicians bringing a new pronounced and enjoyable rhythm to the music he loves the most… the Blues.

A true tribute to his Midwestern roots, Charlie sings lead vocals and plays guitar for the Arizona band, Kentucky North Blues Review.  Their lyrical melodies are an easily appreciated, unique blend of Country meets Blues.  Hearing them, some might recall summer evenings of their youth, savoring scratch peach cobbler on Grandma’s porch.  All will be charmed by the band’s masterful guitar work, warm vocal tonalities, and the smooth undertones of the slide guitar.

The Kentucky North Blues Review band performs at 8:00 PM, Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Urban Campfire BBQ restaurant and bar, 921 East University Drive, Tempe, Arizona.  For information about Urban Campfire, visit http://www.urbancampfire.com/.
