Charity Fashion Show Benefits Down Syndrome Network

“An Afternoon of Fashion and Wine” Event Sponsored by Phoenix Runway and the Art Institute of Phoenix Features Wine Tasting, H’ors doeurves, Fashion Show, and Silent Auction to Benefit Charity

Phoenix, AZ - Sip wine, bid on silent auction items and view beautiful fashions from exciting designers and boutiques at this fundraiser to be held on May 17^th, 2009, for DSNetwork, an Arizona 501(c)(3)charitable organization that educates, supports and advocates for those in our community impacted by Down syndrome.

“An Afternoon of Fashion and Wine” is from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at the, newly-opened, architecturally-stunning “DEC” (Disability Empowerment Center) located at 5025 E. Washington, Phoenix, AZ  85034.  Tickets are $35 per person or $65 per couple in advance and $40 per person and $75 per couple at the door.  To purchase tickets call (480) 759-9150 or email fashion@dsnetwork.org.

The afternoon will feature h’ors doeurves and wine provided by local purveyors of fine vintages and delectable fare, as well as a silent auction.  Some of the most popular silent auctions items in the past have included AZ Diamondbacks and AZ Cardinals ticket packages, Phoenix Suns Sports memorabilia, vacation getaways, and  themed gift baskets (art, wine, travel, food, etc).

Last year’s fundraising and silent auction event raised over $9,000 for DS Network, where 100% of the proceeds went to support, educate, and provide resources for families impacted by Down syndrome.

“With legislative budget cuts, our families have been seriously impacted, losing therapies and health services that they rely on, as much as most of us rely on clean running water.  Fund raising is more important to us than ever before!  DS Network uses these monies to help families get the resources, education and support they needs so that their loved one with Down syndrome can have a quality life,” said Maureen Mills, Executive Director of Down Syndrome Network.
