Call to Athletes for Grand Canyon State Games Summer Events

Registration under way for GCSG Summer Sports Festivals

Phoenix, AZ – The dates are set, the venues are ready, and the call is out to all athletes ready to compete for a medal… the Prisma Graphics Grand Canyon State Games presented by Team Sport Outfitters proudly announces our two  Summer events.  Kicking off the games is the gigantic 33 sport International Summer Games sponsored by Qwest June 18th-21st in the metropolitan Phoenix area with an anticipated 7,000 plus athletes.  The “crowning jewel” of the summer format is the seven sport festival “Lori Piestewa National Native American Games” held July 16th – 20th at the Fort Mc Dowell, Salt River, and Fountain Hills communities.

Whether your sport is Basketball, Swimming, Track, or Golf the list of sports offered goes on and on.  For a complete list of all of the sports offered at these Summer Sports festivals please visit the Games website at www.gcsg.org.  Competition is open to all ages and abilities for International  Summer Games while the Lori Piestewa Games requires an athlete to be at least ¼ Native American to compete.

Registration is open for both competitions and the process to sign up is simple.  You can pick up an entry booklet at any Sleep America, Keller Williams Realty, U.S. Bank, or Mountainside fitness location statewide.  Fill out the application and mail or fax it to the Grand Canyon State Games office at 2120 East 6th Street, Suite 4, Tempe, AZ 85281, FAX 480-517-9739 or go online to www.gcsg.org to download the entry form.   Sign up TODAY!  Call the office if you have any questions at 480-517-9700.  The next medal we award could be yours!

The Grand Canyon State Games is a multi-sport Olympic Festival for Arizona amateur athletes of all ages and abilities. The Games is organized by the Arizona Sports Council and is affiliated with 47 other state games throughout the United States. It is sanctioned by the U.S. Olympic Committee through the National Congress of State Games.
