Production facility to house ad agency, Indy production company and high-tech video studio

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – First there was Brand Canyon; the advertising agency responsible for the Expect the MAX®, Avoid the MAX, Blinking Ice Cubes and Zero, NADA None campaigns.  That success spawned Apple Box Pictures; its Indy and Emmy-award winning production company that created the “Bait & Switch” doc, “Splash – AZ Boating Safety”, AZ E 360 and the recently bowed on-line show Wanna Bet.  Now, the two companies have opened a state-of-the-art production facility aptly named Runway 21 Studios located on the runway of the Scottsdale Airport.

The five-thousand square foot office features a one thousand square foot studio complete with full-size green screen, cyc wall, lighting grid and performance stage.  The studio is supported by two full-service edit bays, a sound booth, standard and high-definition camera packages and a dedicated production office.

“We’re as proud of the production facility we’ve created,” says company CEO Brad Michaelson, “as we are of the creative content we’ve produced.”

The companies do everything from writing scripts to producing commercials and independent shows for broadcast or the Web.  Michaelson explains that three different companies were initially created because the marketing and entertainment industries functioned independent of each other and as a result, behaved differently.  But that’s changing quickly.

“We don’t do typical videos, corporate or otherwise,” Michaelson adds with a sly smile, “we’re more into the atypical corporate video, something that’s entertaining, compelling and professionally-produced…something that people will actually watch.”
