Villa La PAWS Kicks off National “Be Kind to Animals Week” in Phoenix

The free event will celebrate animals and educate their human companions

PHOENIX – Villa La PAWS, Phoenix’s award-winning cage-free, indoor/outdoor dog daycare, boarding and grooming facility, will get the first day of the American Humane Association’s “Be Kind to Animals Week” off on the right paw with a free celebration at its two Phoenix locations on Sunday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to educate and entertain animals lovers and their furry companions.

At the event, dogs will receive a free tooth brushing and mini-massage, as well as dog daycare and water park access. Other features include on-site pet adoptions, trick and sport demos, nutritional information and samples, door prizes and raffles. Admission is free with any unopened bag of dog or cat food, which will be donated to local animal welfare organizations. *

To ensure fun and safety, all dogs will be for screened for sociability prior to participating:

Cost: Free admission with an unopened bag of food; adoption fees vary.

“Be Kind to Animals Week” started as an initiative by the American Humane Association and has been celebrated each year since 1915. This annual tradition commemorates the role animals play in peoples’ lives, promotes ways to continue to treat them humanely and encourages others, especially children, to do the same.
