Tempe, Arizona - The Pat Tillman Foundation has announced that the new Leadership Through ActionTM – Tillman Military Scholars program has opened for applications on March 30, 2009 and will close on May 14, 2009.  Those eligible for consideration are veteran and active servicemembers and their dependents (children and spouses.)  Now in its fifth year, the Pat Tillman Foundation is proud to support these individuals that portray the very nature of leadership that it seeks to inspire in young people across the country.

“The Pat Tillman Foundation is honored to lend our support and resources to servicemembers, veterans and their families through our Military Scholars Program. About the Pat Tillman Foundation
The Tillman family and friends created the Pat Tillman Foundation in 2004, following Pat’s death while serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan.

In the aftermath of the attacks on September 11th, 2001, Pat proudly put his NFL career with Arizona Cardinals on hold to serve his country. This decision was just one of many he made over the course of his lifetime to help others and serve a greater cause than himself.

To honor Pat and young people like Pat, the Pat Tillman Foundation was formed to inspire others to make positive social change through the Leadership Through ActionTM programs and scholarships for military servicemembers, families of servicemembers, and students across the country.
