Tempe seeks input on use of technology

March 24, 2009 · Published By

Tempe, AZ – The City of Tempe Technology, Economic and Community Development Council Committee, run by Councilmembers Onnie Shekerjian and Corey Woods, is seeking input from residents and businesses about the types of technological enhancements that the city should implement in the future.

Members of the local technology community have been invited to a small forum in April to discuss future enhancements. Shekerjian and Woods also want to extend an invitation to the broader community for their input.

The city’s Web site has a page (www.tempe.gov/technologyforum) dedicated to taking input from community members. Please use the form available on that Web page to suggest ways in which Tempe can use technology to become an even better place to live, work and play. Please relate your suggestions to topics such as:

  • Usability and accessibility of information on the city’s Web page, http://www.tempe.gov/
  • Filing, reviewing and issuing building permits electronically
  • Using customer relations software to track resident concerns and improve customer service
  • Online payment systems citywide
  • Using social media
  • Other ideas or uses of technology that could be make the city more efficient and effective

Community input that is received will assist the Council Committee in making recommendations to the full City Council for future use of technology.
