La Paloma Academy Raising Funds 4 Raising Kids Golf Classic set for March 28
Tucson, AZ – Share the gift of reading with children across Tucson – it’s a gift that will shape their lives. Join La Paloma Academy for the second annual Raising Funds 4 Raising Kids Golf Classic, Saturday, March 28. Tee it up for the kids and help La Paloma Academy raise the funds needed to purchase a new reading curriculum.
The second annual golf classic will be held Saturday, March 28 at Forty Niner Country Club, 12000 East Tanque Verde Road. This year, La Paloma Academy is excited to host many exciting celebrity guests to support their cause. Joining golfers on the greens will be Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup; Marana Vice Mayor Herb Kai; comedian and actor Sinbad; actor Carlos Ramirez and Days of Our Lives actor Brody Hutzler.
The 2009 Raising Funds for Raising Kids Golf Classic will support an important cause – reading. Proceeds go directly towards the purchase of a new reading curriculum for all students of La Paloma Academy’s two campuses.
According to the Literacy Report released by the National Center for Education Statistics, one in four children grows up not knowing how to read. La Paloma Academy’s goal is to give all its students the most advanced possible education. A new reading curriculum will stimulate and motivate students to read more, use their imagination and solve everyday problems.
Registration for the tournament begins at 7am. Entry is $110 per player or $400 for a golf foursome. This fee includes greens fee, cart, range balls, lunch, a La Paloma Academy polo shirt and a raffle ticket. The format is a four-man scramble – pick your own team, three drives per person.
After finishing on the greens, enjoy lunch, a raffle and a silent auction. Prizes include a University of Arizona signed basketball, Arizona Cardinals gear, a Spa One gift card, a UCLA signed basketball, a Jonathon’s Cork gift card, a Target gift card, Dallas Cowboys gear and more.
