Resourcelink Celebrates One Year Of Service

ResourceLink Information and Referral Service provides free referrals to consumers and physicians who are searching for a healthcare provider or specialist

CHANDLER and GILBERT, Ariz. - One year ago, Chandler Regional Medical Center and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, members of Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), opened The ResourceLink Information and Referral Service, a free physician referral program for residents and physicians. Throughout its first year of operation, the ResourceLink team handled more than 11,500 incoming requests and provided 4,080 physician referrals to East Valley family physicians and specialists.

The database of physicians has grown to include more than 310 active providers and allows the ResourceLink to cross reference physicians based on consumer or referring physician preferences, insurance, and diagnosis while systematically rotating physicians who match the search criteria. Referral information about physicians is based on several criteria, including forms of insurance accepted, area of specialty, if they are accepting new patients, and languages spoken, among others.

The ResourceLink assisted more than1,500 members of the community in finding a support group or community education class sponsored by Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers.  The ResourceLink recently added access to several new programs and services within the system including CLIMB^® (support group for Children with family members who have cancer), prostate screenings, and the Bilingual Language Assistant Education class.
