Phoenix Parks Hosts International Migratory Bird Day Festival

Phoenix, AZ – The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department’s Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area will host the International Migratory Bird Day Festival, “Birds in Culture,” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4. Exhibits, guest presenters and hands-on activities will explore how various cultures have incorporated birds into their folklore, art, history and identity. Participants can enjoy live bird exhibits, guided hikes, educational programs, family activities, and a kid’s corner.
Arizona Game and Fish and Audubon Arizona will join the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department in offering this fun-filled event for birders and families alike. Presenters and exhibitors include author Conrad Storad, wildlife photographer E.J. Pieker, visual artists Beto Perez and Dave Morris; staff from ASU’s Ask a Biologist program, Liberty Wildlife, the Japanese American Citizen League and many more.
Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area is located at 2439 S. Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ. (Central Avenue south of Watkins Street).
