Mesa, AZ – Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa is undergoing a major campus expansion, including a new seven-story home for Banner Children’s Hospital at Banner Desert, which is slated to open this fall.
As part of its expansion, Banner Desert will receive a combined $75,000 in rebate checks from Salt River Project for installing cost-effective, energy-efficiency equipment. The partnership also provides Banner with more operational opportunities for optimal energy management and to become a better energy partner with SRP.
On Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 9:30 a.m., Banner Desert Medical Center, will be presented with the rebate check in the lobby of the Rosati Education Center. Free valet parking will be available at the West Main entrance of the hospital.
Banner Desert will be the first SRP commercial electric customer to get the full cash benefit of both new commercial rebate programs, SRP PowerWise Standard Business Solutions and SRP PowerWise Custom Business Solutions. The programs offer cash rebates for industry-proven high-efficiency equipment, lower energy costs and less downtime and repairs with new and improved equipment.
The two commercial rebate programs will also be beneficial to the environment. SRP estimates that the two commercial rebate programs should help Banner Desert realize estimated yearly savings of 66,000 kilowatt-hours via high-efficiency motors, 1.9 million kilowatt-hours from variable frequency drives (VFDs) and 918,705 kilowatt-hours from chillers – the equivalent of powering 190 residential homes and reducing more than 2,120 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
