Annual Tempe Diablos Charity Game Feb. 25

Tempe, Ariz. – When the Angels lead off their spring training season against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 1:05 p.m., fans will have the chance to support local charities while watching two of last season’s top American League teams face off in Cactus League play at Tempe Diablo Stadium, 2200 W. Alameda Drive.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from ticket sales, parking, concessions and merchandise from the game will go directly to support Tempe Diablos local charities for youth sports and education. The Tempe Diablos is a volunteer organization that provides and manages over 100 volunteers for the Cactus League Spring Training season and helps to enhance the Tempe community by providing leadership and resources that create worthwhile opportunities, especially for youth. Last year’s Charity Game raised more than $47,000 for Diablos charities.

Before the Angels and White Sox take the field, the Diablos and Tempe officials will present a check to the Tempe Boys and Girls Clubs. The honorary first pitch of the game will be tossed by Mayor Hugh Hallman.

Tentative Pre-Game Schedule:

  • 12:50 p.m. Mayor Hallman, Tempe councilmembers, representatives from the Diablos and representatives from the Boys and Girls Clubs take the field
  • 12:55 p.m. Introductions and check presentation to Boys and Girls Clubs
  • 12:58 p.m. National Anthem
  • 1:00 p.m. First pitch thrown by Mayor Hallman
  • 1:05 p.m. Game begins

Tickets for the Angels-White Sox charity matchup and all other home games are available now at Ticketmaster.com and angelsbaseball.com, or at the Diablo Stadium box office. Ticket prices for general seating range from $6 to $27.50, and a seat in the new upper pavilion party area is $42. For more information on Angels Spring Training, visit www.tempe.gov/diablo.
