SCOTTSDALE, REALTORS TEAM UP TO FIGHT BLIGHT
Scottsdale is partnering with the Scottsdale Area Association of Realtors to combat foreclosure neglect. A growing number of foreclosures has led to vacant and abandoned homes Valleywide. The partnership with Realtors is an attempt to help our community better deal with homes which may have fallen into disrepair.
The city has established a link, exclusively for use by Realtors, to report homes they find during day-to-day activities that may require assistance. The form covers items such as “green pools,” excessive weed growth, overflowing sprinklers, broken gates, fence damage, broken windows, etc. This innovative partnership takes advantage of the Realtor community’s routine observation of homes in the course of daily business activities, as well as previewing and showing homes throughout the city.
Their observations will be entered into the city’s code enforcement computer system within one working day, and a code inspector will inspect the property within two working days. For more information on city code enforcement, property upkeep and how to report a violation, visit:
