TEMPE, Ariz. – With Angels Spring Training on the doorstep in Tempe, here are three upcoming events at the city of Tempe’s Diablo Stadium, the spring training home for Major League Baseball’s Angels, located at 2200 W. Alameda Drive.

GE Money to beautify Diablo Stadium Jan. 31
Spring will bloom a bit earlier in Tempe this year when more than 30 employees from Tempe company GE Money plant flowers at the entrance to Diablo Stadium on Saturday, Jan. 31. Employees, along with their families and friends, will gather at 8 a.m. to spruce up the front of the stadium with Angels-red geraniums. This will be the second consecutive year that GE Money has participated in the beautification volunteer event.

“GE employees have a long history of serving the communities in which we live and work,” said Gary Davis, site leader for GE Money – Sales Finance in Tempe. “Planting flowers at Diablo Stadium is an enjoyable way for our employees to beautify our city and welcome the Angels back for spring training.”

Diablo Stadium box office opens Feb. 13
The offseason can seem so long for baseball fans, but on Friday, Feb. 13, spring training will take one step closer to Tempe when the Diablo Stadium box office opens to sell Angels Spring Training tickets. Box office hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday game days. Tickets are also already available online at Ticketmaster.com and angelsbaseball.com.

Tickets to watch the Angels range in price from $6 for lawn seats to $27.50 for a spot right behind home plate. Fans can also purchase tickets for a brand new, 100-person capacity upper pavilion party seating area located above the seats along the first base side. A $42 ticket for the new pavilion includes food and non-alcoholic drinks for the entire game. Spectators in this exclusive area can watch the game from a prime location under the shade and won’t have to fight through concourse traffic during the game.

Angels Spring Training opening day about more than baseball
When the Angels lead off their spring training season against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 1:05 p.m., fans will have the chance to support local charities while watching two of last season’s top American League teams face off in Cactus League play at Tempe Diablo Stadium.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from ticket sales, parking, concessions and merchandise from the game will go directly to support Tempe Diablos local charities for youth sports and education. The Tempe Diablos is a volunteer organization that provides and manages over 100 volunteers for the Cactus League Spring Training season and helps to enhance the Tempe community by providing leadership and resources that create worthwhile opportunities, especially for youth. Last year’s Charity Game raised more than $47,000 for Diablos charities.

Tickets for the Angels-White Sox charity matchup and all other home games are available now at Ticketmaster.com and angelsbaseball.com, or at Diablo Stadium beginning Friday, Feb. 13. Ticket prices for general seating range from $6 to $27.50, and a seat in the new upper pavilion party area is $42. For more information on Angels Spring Training, visit www.tempe.gov/diablo.
