Grocer to open third Tucson market with fun and entertainment

Tucson, AZ – Sunflower Farmers Market is continues is growth in Arizona. The full-service grocer, famous for its “Serious Food at Silly Prices,” is set to launch its third Tucson location Wednesday, January 21, with a huge grand opening celebration for the Tucson public. The new Tucson store is the first Sunflower grand opening of 2009 and the 21st in the brand.
The new Sunflower Farmers Market is located at 4282 N. First Avenue at Limberlost. Sunflower is already part of the local business community, as the market operates its corporate offices and a massive distribution center in the Phoenix area.
Tucson’s grand opening festivities begin at 6:30 am in front of the store, with complimentary breakfast items and a special sunflower garland cutting ceremony.
Doors will open immediately after the garland cutting at 7 am. The first 200 customers on opening day will receive a FREE reusable shopping bag filled with Sunflower’s healthy groceries, valued at over $50, with any in-store purchase. In addition, the store will give away 5,000 free reusable shopping bags during the first days of business (while supplies last). Customers will receive a ten-cent discount for every reusable bag brought back to the store for future purchases. Customers are encouraged to arrive early, as the line typically forms hours before the store opening at 7am.
There will be fun, food and prizes all day long – even activities for the kids! Stop by for a chance to win the day’s coolest prize – a 15″ LCD Spongebob TV!
A now standing tradition at all grand openings, Sunflower CEO and Founder Mike Gilliland will be greeting and thanking customers as well as lending a hand to bag groceries.
