Resolutions require combining passions with realistic goals

CHANDLER – While many of us make New Year’s resolutions, most fail to bring lasting change because our goals are not realistic and our passions have been put aside as we raise families or focus on ascending the career ladder, says certified life coach Cathy Lawson.
“Once you re-discover your passions and know what it is you want to accomplish, then you have to create time in your schedule to support new goals,” says owner and founder of Life Sculpting personal development center which opened a year ago in Chandler’s Ocotillo Center.
“If you don’t put some work behind change and take some control, then life is what happens to you,” stresses Lawson, who is celebrating the one-year anniversary of the business she opened after leaving a successful but personally unfulfilling corporate career.
In her own case, she says, “To do what I love, the change I made was worth it,” adding, “I created this (Life Sculpting) from a thought and that’s a tremendous amount of satisfaction.”
Working with a team of experts, the former industrial engineer says she and the center’s staff are helping others achieve their goals by focusing on life coaching, creative expression, naturopathy, and effective communication.
“The key is self-discovery and to learn more about yourself,” Lawson notes about the goal of her services.
“And to play a role in helping someone transform their life into an experience that has more fulfillment, serenity and joy is the most rewarding work I could ever imagine doing,” Lawson adds.
In celebration of Life Sculpting’s anniversary, the health and wellness center is offering free classes, special discounts and prize drawings, including a customized package valued at $1,200, beginning Sunday, Jan. 11 through Saturday, Jan. 17.
Among the free classes is “Making 2009 Shine” and “Take Charge of Your Life.” Special discounts will be available on a variety of services including B-12 shots, a weight loss clinic and acupuncture.
Located at 4960 S. Alma School Road, Life Sculpting is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 480-883-8160 or visit its website at: http://www.lifesculpting.biz/
