SRP customers may receive up to $5 off LED holiday lights at Ace Hardware
PHOENIX – Ace Hardware has partnered with Salt River Project to offer SRP electric customers up to $5 off on LED (light-emitting diode) holiday lights sold at participating Ace Hardware stores beginning now through Dec. 31, 2008, while supplies last.
SRP customers can visit www.srpnet.com/powerwise for a money-saving coupon and view the list of participating Ace Hardware stores, where coupons also are readily available.
According to the Electric Power Research Institute, LED holiday lights use up to 98% less energy than standard holiday lights. Due to less electricity passing through the lights, they also generate less heat and reduce the risk of fire. According to the National Fire Protection Association, from 2002-2005 there were an average of 240 home structure fires per year that were caused from holiday lights and other decorative lighting.
“LED lights have become extremely popular because not only do they save on energy and reduce the risk of fires, but they also can last up to ten years and require less maintenance than traditional incandescent lights,” said Brian Freeland, store owner of Chandler Ace Hardware. “I was surprised to see how much brighter they were in comparison to standard lights.”
