Swimming with Santa at Kiwanis Recreation Center

TEMPE, Ariz. – It’s fall in the Valley of the Sun, which means Winter is on it’s way. If you are missing the use of a swimming pool, have no fear, Kiwanis Recreation Center is here! Mark your calendar now for Winter Wave Swimming Fun!
A special Swimming with Santa event will re-open the heated wave pool for the holidays on December 26 & 27, 2008. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be the guests of honor during this event which will run from 1-3pm.
This fun, festive family event is complete with a FREE prize raffle, and milk and cookies. “We wanted to create a relaxing family friendly event to follow the holidays.” commented David Bucher, Recreation Supervisor of the Kiwanis Recreation Center. “It’ll be more fun than a herd of reindeers.”
Discounted tickets may be purchased at the Kiwanis Recreation Center front desk beginning November 25, 2008. The discount prices are $4.00 for those 13 years and older and $2.00 for those 2-12 years old. Cost for admission to the wave pool is $6.00 for those 13 years and older and $3.00 for those 2-12 years old. Swimmers may continue swimming until the pool closes at 5pm. Children under the age of 8 must have an adult with them at all times while in the water.
In addition to the special event, the Kiwanis Wave Pool will be open for the following Winter Wave Hours: Dec. 26-30, 2008 from 1-5pm and Jan 2 & 3, 2009 from 1-5pm.
