Invest Southwest Capital Conference kicks off December 10, 2008 with 12 companies presenting to venture capitalists and qualified investors. 84 submissions in a variety of high-tech fields were reduced to the 12 final presenters that will present at the two day conference. The Invest Southwest Capital Conference will be held in Scottsdale Arizona on December 10 and 11, 2008.
Solar-Breeze, LLC of Phoenix Arizona is one of the presenters at the Invest Southwest Capital Conference. Solar-Breeze has introduced the world’s first solar-powered robotic pool-skimmer which keeps pools swim-ready while saving energy and money. US Patent # 7,101,475 was issued to the inventors Terry A Maaske and Denis L Ruzsa in Sept. 2006.
iMemories of Scottsdale Arizona will be presenting as well. iMemories converts home movies and photos to DVD and hosts consumers’ personal videos and photos online for sharing.
Medipacs, Inc., a Tucson based drug delivery device company is another of the companies selected to present at the conference. Medipacs was founded in 2004 by Mark Banister, a career entrepreneur and was awarded several grants from the National Science Foundation and Science Foundation of Arizona which helped advance fundamentally new polymer science to the point of attracting investor attention. Medipacs’ novel polymer gel expands to multiples of its original size. This large expansion ratio occurs precisely and rapidly which enables a variety of practical, low cost drug delivery devices to be used for administering small volume Parenteral (SVP) drugs. According to recent studies, SVP drugs are often implicated in drug delivery errors that extend hospital stays and increase variable costs and Medipacs devices are aimed at reducing many of these errors with its novel delivery systems.
