PACC911 Winter Wagland Event Aims to Reduce the Influx of Abandoned Animals

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Animal Care Coalition (PACC911) has teamed up with HALO Animal Rescue, a no-kill nonprofit animal rescue group, for the second annual Winter Wagland, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at HALO Animal Rescue located at 5231 N. 35th Ave. in Phoenix. The purpose of the event is to build awareness for animals in need and decrease the number of homeless animals that have resulted from the current economic conditions.
At Winter Wagland, the 30-foot Maricopa County Animal Care and Control bus, along with twenty animal rescue groups will be on-site with animals for adoption. Micro-chipping will be offered by HALO, and numerous vendors, including Petco will also be at the event.
Animal lovers can also purchase holiday items from the PACC911 gift shop and enter to win several raffle items, with all proceeds benefiting the Emergency Medical Fund (EMF), which provides financial aid to Valley nonprofit animal welfare groups needing assistance with medical costs.
