The Secret to the Law of Attraction

I was talking to one of my closest friends about my new book launch this week and she went on a tirade about all the financial pain and suffering that everyone in her city was experiencing, so she could not hear me share the joy and solution of what You’re Not Who You Think You Are could give its readers. Although she has lived a charmed life she has never gotten out of the endgame of fear of lack of money. Every time she talks to anyone, and this has gone on for years, she always talks money, money, money and how she doesn’t ever have enough. I should factor into this that she also has a drinking problem as well as being the most proactive and caring person I have ever met. If you are hungry she will see that you are fed.
What’s wrong with this picture? Why does she not look deep within herself to discover why she has had this lifelong inordinate concern for what money can buy? With so many loving people around her why can’t she find peace and resolution for her own financial insecurity? What keeps her where she has always been and why we as a world find ourselves in sheer terror about being wiped out financially is that we have been guilty of that biblical caveat, “for the love of money is the root of all evil”.
I have been telling a lot of people in my recovery meetings lately that if I wake up at 3 or 4:00 o’clock in the morning a pall of dread and anxiety canopies me. Until I get out of bed and prepare for my day, pray and meditate-eat breakfast and work my daily crossword puzzle-this ‘walking dead’ malaise stays with me. By the time I begin writing, as is my routine, or working with clients, this dark night of the soul lifts and I am my usual hopeful and productive man. So what’s up with my friend and what’s with my early morning maelstrom?
One worldview is that we are all going to live in a world of lack and want, similar to the Great Depression. Some may graduate to living at poverty level if that is what they want and need to experience to refine the soul. My Albertview is that we are in the midst of a colossal and cleansing metamorphosis-soul-shape shifting back to which we were born to be but our dark side, our egocentric distortions of that true self, caused us to abandon. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, God is taking his world back and the requirement to live with what we need is to let go of what that dark side screamed for until the millions of like-minded folks found themselves at a crossroads of choice: let go of the egocentric and selfish desires of what the ego said you need and connect to the redemption and transformation through the God within you.
When I am right-size and live in humility and grace, all manner of possibilities come to me. Our brilliant publicist persists in getting media type to review the new book. “Will you at least see if his message speaks to you,” Jeanna implores. We got a call that someone needs out help in the Sedona Intensive. A radio host emails requesting we do an hour special about the state of the nation and how can we make corrections. A television hostess asks me to come on her show and talk about how long the financial reconstruction of our nation will take and what can we as individuals do to make things better?
What are you attracting into your life? What painful steps of turnaround are you taking to change the things you can? If you believe in a Higher Power it is your true nature to turn the outcome of your efforts over to Him. After years and years and years of being sober and learning how to live clean and sober, I have learned that my life is none of my business. I do what’s in front of me and I leave the results to God.
