Golfers gear up for the Mark Grace Celebrity Invitational

Local and national sports celebrities rally for annual golf tournament benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale

Scottsdale, AZ – The Mark Grace Celebrity Invitational benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale will take place on Friday, February 6, 2009, at the Camelback Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. More than 200 golf enthusiasts and local and national sports celebrities will join together in support of providing quality youth development programs to Club members ages six to eighteen. The invitational begins with a breakfast followed by a round of golf on one of Scottsdale’s premier golf courses. The day concludes with a cocktail reception, silent & live auction, and awards dinner. 

Host of the tournament is baseball legend Mark Grace who is dedicated to supporting local charities. For 16 seasons, Mark Grace brought enthusiasm, humor and talent to the game of baseball. As a Chicago Cub, Grace led his team on the field and in the hearts of its fans from his rookie season in 1988 through the end of the 2000 season. With the Arizona Diamondbacks, Grace won a World Series ring in 2001 and played three seasons before retiring after the 2003 season. He remains active in baseball today, sharing his knowledge of the game as a TV broadcaster for Diamondbacks’ telecasts.

Since 1954, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale has provided more than 100,000 Northeast Valley youth with a positive, supervised environment to explore the power of their potential.
