Welcome Trout Back to Tempe Town Lake
November 17, 2008 · Published By Editor
One fish, two fish … red fish, blue fish. Well, they are rainbow trout, after all.
It’s time for the annual stocking of rainbow trout into Tempe Town Lake.
Just in time for Thanksgiving, Arizona Game and Fish will launch thousands of tasty trout into Tempe Town Lake.
It’s a great opportunity to bring the kids to catch their first fish. Kids will be able to scoop nets of the wiggly trout into the lake, assisted by Mayor Hugh Hallman. Then they can borrow a free pole and snatch them right back out again! Yummy!
No license is required for the event. Arizona Game and Fish will provide everything needed to catch the biggest trout ever during the two hour event. This includes poles, bait and even people to help make sure people cast correctly and understand proper fishing techniques. Folks will be expected to bring their own lucky hat or lure.
To make the day more festive, Chuck E. Baby and the All Stars will perform everyone’s favorite fishing songs.
WHEN: Tuesday, Nov. 25 from 3- 5 p.m.
WHERE: Town Lake Marina — north side of Tempe Town Lake, just south of Curry Road on College Avenue. Follow the blue signs to get there.
