FREE Pet Travel and Safety Products at the Arizona International Auto Show

Phoenix, AZ - Bark Buckle UP, the leader in pet travel safety is a major feature at the 2009 Arizona International Auto Show held at the Phoenix Convention Center, November 27 – 30, 2008. This annual exposition is one of 24 shows sponsored by the Motor Trend Auto Shows, LLC throughout the United States and Puerto Rico featuring more than 250 all-new manufacturer models and the latest in motor vehicle innovation.

“Seat belts protect millions of people every day,” said Christina Selter, nationally recognized pet safety advocate and founder of Bark Buckle UP, who buckles up her dog Betty, even if she’s just driving to the supermarket. “In the event of an accident, an unrestrained pet can escape and be hit by another vehicle, cause another collision, or attack emergency crews trying to reach an injured party. It only takes a few minutes to safeguard your pet and by properly securing your pet, you are protecting yourself, your passengers, and your pet from injury, not to mention protecting other drivers and strangers trying to help.”

American families consider their pets to be part of their family and take them everywhere on foot and in the car. Unfortunately many people are unaware that traveling with your pet in a motor vehicle is extremely dangerous not just for the pet but the driver as well.  The incidence of pets traveling with their owners is up 300% from 2005, currently more than 98% of pets travel not properly restrained.  Even in an accident of only 35 mph, a 60-pound dog can cause an impact of 2,700 pounds, slamming into a car seat, a windshield, or another passenger or escape the vehicle through an open window or door and distracting the driver is never safe.

Bark Buckle Up and the Arizona International Auto Show will be giving away thousands of dollars in FREE Pet safety and travel gear.
