My Favorite Martian in Mesa
November 7, 2008 · Published By Editor
As a way of celebrating its new Mars! exhibition, the Arizona Museum of Natural History, 53 N. Macdonald, is letting your imagination run wild at the next “Night at the Museum” Friday, Nov. 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
It will be your opportunity to show us your idea of what a Martian would look like. Are Martians really green? Do they have antennae? Big Heads? It is your chance to be creative.
“Night at the Museum” will allow you to enjoy the Mars! exhibition along with PSI: Poop Scene Investigation and Hohokam! Ancient Monuments of the Salt River Valley. Special admission is $4 for those 18 and under and $6 for everyone else. Museum members are admitted free.
After visiting the museum, you are encouraged to stay in Downtown Mesa for “Taste of Main,” which is this month’s theme for “Second Friday.” This will showcase the Downtown Mesa restaurants and will also feature live music and classic cars. Many of the shops, galleries, restaurants and other businesses along Main Street between Country Club Drive and Center Street will be open as late as 10 p.m.
For more information on “Night at the Museum,” contact Arizona Museum of Natural History Curator of Education Kathy Eastman at 480-644-5662.
