Health Workshop on End-of-Life Medical Decisions

“Health for a Lifetime,” a series of free workshops presented by the city of Phoenix Human Services Department Senior Services Division and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, will present health information for older adults and the community.
The next workshop, “Finding Your Way: A Guide for End-of-Life Medical Decisions” will be from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Adam Diaz Senior Center, 4115 W. Thomas Road.
Bonnie McCulley, manager of chaplain services, pastoral counselor and chaplain at St. Joseph’s, will discuss how to begin advance care planning. She will present information on advance directives, including the value and limits of living wills and medical durable power of attorney.
McCulley has 25 years of pastoral care and counseling experience, including 20 years experience in hospital ministry and 15 years in mind/body medicine.
Future monthly workshops will include information about nutrition, cardiac care and the latest cancer treatments. The workshops are free and open to the public and support the mission of the Healthier Phoenix Initiative. For more information, call 602-262-1609.
