Residents can “tune in” on air and online to stay in touch

Tempe, Arizona – Tempe 11, the city’s television and online information source, has launched a new program all about life in this amazing community.

“Tempe 411″ is a homespun, fast-paced look at community events, partner organizations, cool locations and the people who make our city great. It airs daily on Tempe 11, which Cox cable subscribers can view on Channel 11 at home, or online at www.tempe.gov/tempe11. Visit the Web site for a complete listing of program dates and times.

Currently, Tempe 411 features segments on the Tempe Center for the Arts, Esquer Park and parking in the Mill Avenue District. The following show, which begins airing Oct. 12, will take a lighthearted look at places in Tempe that are rumored to be haunted. Each episode is taped at a Tempe location and includes a segment featuring a brief history of Tempe. New Tempe 411 episodes will debut the second Sunday of each month and replay throughout the month.

In addition, Tempe 11 has begun a partnership with the Tempe Elementary School District to air its twice-monthly Governing Board meetings on the channel and online. District crews will tape the meetings and Tempe 11 will air them Tuesdays at 10 p.m., Thursdays at 4 p.m., and Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

Finally, Tempe 11 has introduced a new logo, which has been redesigned after many years. If viewers have any suggestions, comments or ideas for the channel, Tempe 11 encourages submissions through its new email address: tempe11@tempe.gov. Stay tuned to all the changes and improvements at www.tempe.gov/tempe11.
