Experts will provide helpful tips on growing a green lawn year-round

PHOENIX -  Ace Hardware stores across the Valley will host a free winter grass clinic on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 2:00 p.m. Ace Hardware experts will provide step-by-step tips on overseeding and lawn care solutions for the winter months.

“In order to grow a successful lawn in a warm climate, it’s important to begin preparation for overseeding when evening temperatures drops to 64 degrees. At that point, the grass will become dormant and the rye grass won’t have to compete with the summer lawn,” said John Arterburn, owner of Pinnacle Peak Ace Hardware. “There are several different seed options available, including new hybrid alternatives, which grow faster and require less water than the average perennial seed.”
