Come join us for a welcome home celebration honoring American Idol top five finalist and Mesa resident Brooke White, Saturday, Sep. 27, at the Mesa Amphitheatre. Brooke will be recognized for her achievements on the FOX reality show and will perform several songs as part of the celebration.
The event is free to the public; however, those attending may make a donation to Malaria No More, a non-profit group that works to prevent the spread of malaria in third world countries.
White, who was brought up in Mesa and attended Heritage High School, will also sign autographs Saturday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, at Milano Music Center located at 38 W Main Street in Mesa. The autographs are also free.
The 25-year old singer-songwriter wowed the American idol judges, including Simon and more importantly the audiences, in season seven, with her renditions of such hits as “Beautiful” by Carole King, Carly Simon’s “You’re so vain” and Neil Diamond’s “I’m a believer” and “I am, I said.”
The Mesa Amphitheatre, which recently was voted the “Best concert venue,” by Phoenix Magazine, is located at 263 N. Center St. in Mesa. Gates will open at 6:30 for the 7:30 concert and food and non alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
The celebration is presented by the Mesa Convention and Visitors Bureau, Milano Music Center, and the City of Mesa.
