Dairy Queen celebrates 3rd Annual Miracle Treat Day
PHOENIX, Ariz. – When is a forecast for blizzards good for the Valley of the Sun? That would be on Thursday, August 7, when the community comes together to raise funds for sick and injured children during the 3rd Annual North American “DQ® Miracle Treat Day” to benefit Children’s Miracle Network.
During Miracle Treat Day, Dairy Queen® locations throughout central and northern Arizona will donate proceeds from every Blizzard® sold to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, a member of Children’s Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children’s hospitals. Casa Grande, Lake Havasu City, Globe, Wickenburg, and Holbrook Dairy Queen locations will also be participating in the campaign.
Local Dairy Queen locations have been supporting Phoenix Children’s Hospital through the Children’s Miracle Network since 1987. “Our local Dairy Queen operators involved in Miracle Treat Day have huge hearts for kids and we’re grateful to have their continued support,” said Andrea Miller, Children’s Miracle Network program director at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. “I hope everyone will visit a participating location on August 7 to get some relief from the heat and enjoy a delicious Blizzard to help children and families in our community.”
Last year on Miracle Treat Day, participating Dairy Queens throughout the United States and Canada raised more than $4 million, with all proceeds staying in local communities.. Dairy Queen will serve up a variety of Blizzard Flavor Treats during Miracle Treat Day, including Oreo®, the featured Blizzard of the Month for August. The Oreo Blizzard debuted in 1985, the Blizzard’s inaugural year, and to this day remains the most popular flavor.
