Contest Open to the Public; Winner to Receive $500 Cash Prize and Broadcast Station Tour
PHOENIX, AZ – The Arizona Broadcasters Association (ABA) today announced that it will sponsor a contest in search of the corporation’s new logo. The statewide organization that has worked to serve and promote working professionals in the radio and television industry for the past 56 years is looking to individuals with creative flair and the ability to execute an innovative graphic concept. The winner will be awarded a $500 cash prize as well as an exclusive, behind-the-scenes visit at his or her favorite Arizona radio or television station. The ABA New Logo Contest will begin on Friday, August 1 and will conclude on Friday, September 5, 2008.
It is important that the logo accurately portrays the Association as it is today and will be in the future. That is, an association of 137 member radio stations and 33 member television stations serving their communities with free over-the-air broadcasts as well as online news, information and entertainment.
“As the Arizona Broadcasters Association enters its 56th year, we feel it’s time for a creative change in our design,” said Art Brooks, Arizona Broadcasters Association President and CEO. “Our focus has been and will continue to be to promote cooperation and understanding between the radio and television broadcasting industry and the public. That said, our new logo contest will seek to tap the local community for their creative talent and skill and reward them for their efforts.”
Designs will be reviewed by a panel of three judges. The winning logo design will be judged on the following:
Showcases the tone and character of the ABA’s mission statement
Simplicity and clarity of design
Incorporates unique, contemporary style
Reproduces in two-color, four-color and black and white
Use of ABA acronym or full organization name
Logo reflecting both the print and electronic mediums
Usage will be used but not limited to business cards, corporate stationary packages, websites, brochures, etc.
Each contestant may submit a maximum of three logo designs for consideration. Submissions should include full name, address, phone and email address. Submissions without contact information will be disqualified. Contestants will be asked to submit a signed copy of the ABA Terms of Service that outlines the terms and conditions of logo ownership rights in order to be considered for this contest. A PDF document of the Official Contest Rules and the ABA Terms of Service is available at www.azbroadcasters.org. A signed copy of the ABA Terms of Service can either be scanned and emailed or printed and mailed to the ABA main office.
Entries must be submitted in PDF format and be accompanied by a signed copy of the ABA Terms of Service by 5:00p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2008.
The Arizona Broadcasters Association is a 501c(6) non-profit corporation founded in 1952. Membership includes radio and television stations and associate members.
