Phoenix Becomes New Chapter of the Association of Litigation Support Professionals
July 17, 2008 · Published By Editor
PHOENIX – Phoenix recently became the host city for the next regional chapter of the nonprofit Association of Litigation Support Professionals. In less than one year, more than 750 individuals have chosen to become members of ALSP. The association’s remarkable growth rate has increased each month and will continue to do so as ALSP amplifies its visibility in the legal community. With a mission to establish global standards for the litigation support profession through collaboration, education and certification, ALSP is dedicated to advancing the profession and contributing to the career development of practitioners around the world from all sectors of the industry.
ALSP members are thought leaders in the burgeoning field of electronic discovery who help attorneys, top executives and government officials traverse the increasingly complex intersections where technology and law collide. ALSP seeks to incorporate input from all sectors of the litigation support community – including corporate, law firm and service bureau litigation support – to validate the standards and certification processes that the association ultimately provides to the industry.
Patrick Kennedy, litigation support manager for Baker Botts LLP, underscores the urgency of this organization’s mission when he says: “From a macro point of view, this market is no different than any other. If litigation support departments don’t counter this growth with a standard protocol, their corporate clients will.”
ALSP invites Phoenix-area litigation support professionals to attend the chapter’s first meeting:
