Tempe Mayor and City Councilmembers to be sworn in July 17

Tempe, Arizona – Mayor Hugh Hallman and three City Councilmembers will be sworn in to office during a 6 p.m. ceremony on Thursday, July 17. The ceremony will be part of a short formal City Council meeting in the Tempe City Council Chambers, on the lower level of the inverted-pyramid City Hall building, 31 E. Fifth St.
Mayor Hugh Hallman will be sworn in for his second, four-year term in office. Councilmember Mark Mitchell will be sworn in for a third, four-year term on the Council. Joel Navarro and Corey Woods, who were elected in the May 20 General Election, will be sworn in as new Councilmembers.
If the Council Chambers reaches capacity, overflow viewing of the live swearing-in ceremony will be available inside the Police Department Auditorium, at 120 E. Fifth St. The auditorium will open at 5:30 p.m., and it is accessible from Bradshaw Plaza, the below-ground plaza that adjoins the Police Department building.
A reception will follow at the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel, 60 E. Fifth St.
