Academic Flexibility through Hope High School Online Nurtures Career Path

GLENDALE, Ariz. – Daisy Jayne Mallory, the 2007 Junior Arizona Idol winner and the youngest member of the Arizona Song Writers Association, was recently interviewed live on a Nashville radio station.

Daisy, who is 15, is a full-time student at Hope High School Online, a service of Glendale-based Blueprint Education, a nonprofit educational organization. She recently released her first studio recordings and is planning a full-length compact disk. Her interview on WTNK 1090 AM was broadcast live on June 27.

At age nine, Daisy, a Cave Creek resident, was already playing the guitar and by age 12, she was asked to perform by a local band for a Katrina relief benefit. Now a freshman in high school, she’s moving full force into pursuing her passion for music and song writing.

“I love feeding off of the energy from the crowd,” she said. “I have over 20 copy-written songs and I’m continuing to work on completing more. Hope High School Online allows my schedule to be more flexible and I am able to pursue my music career without jeopardizing my education.”

In July 2006, Daisy attended a 10-day Seth Riggs International vocal program in Los Angeles and qualified for his “Master” vocal class on the first day. In July 2007, she won the Cave Creek Film and Arts Festival top prize for song writing.

Blueprint Education has been helping students succeed for 39 years and serves junior high and high school students throughout Arizona, across the nation, and abroad. It originated in 1926 as a correspondence school. In 1969, it was incorporated by the state of Arizona as a private non-profit organization and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Today, Blueprint Education serves thousands of school-aged youth and adults.

Blueprint Education is accredited by the NCA Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, CITA and the NCAA. More information about Blueprint and its programs is available at www.blueprinteducation.org.
