Arizona’s popular Shade Screens offered at discounted price
PHOENIX - To help combat summer energy costs to consumers, Ace Hardware has partnered with Salt River Project (SRP) by offering SRP electric customers a 20 percent discount off of shade screens sold at participating Ace Hardware stores beginning now through Sept. 30, 2008.
SRP customers can visit www.srpnet.com/powerwise for a money-saving coupon and view the list of participating Ace Hardware stores, where coupons also are readily available.
According to SRP energy expert Jerry Thieken, household windows are the leading source of heat gain and can account for nearly 50 percent of the heat that enters a home. Shade screens can save up to 25 percent on air conditioning costs compared to unshaded windows, and a typical 2,000 square foot house that has shade screens can save homeowners $200 to $250 a summer.
“Shade screens essentially pay for themselves and continuously help you save on energy costs,” said Brian Freeland, store owner of Chandler Ace Hardware. “Ace Hardware is happy to help customers select and install the shade screens that are most suitable for their home.”
