Volunteers Needed for Wine Study
June 24, 2008 · Published By Editor
The Arizona State University Department of Nutrition is calling for female volunteers to participate in a study to determine the polyphenol absorption efficiency of and preference for different wines.
Participants must be females from 21 to 29 years of age who weigh more than 110 pounds and are moderate drinkers. People who are pregnant, smoke, or highly active are not eligible to participate.
The study involves three afternoon visits to the Health Sciences Center at ASU’s Polytechnic campus, with each visit approximately 2-3 hours in length. Each visit will include consumption of one standard 5-ounce serving of wine in 15 minutes and the collection of three blood samples. A qualitative survey about the wine also will be administered.
